Austenitic SMO 254 Flat
Grade 254 SMO is a very high end austenitic stainless steel and cost effective substitute for high nickel and titanium alloy. Alloy 254 SMO is substantially stronger than the common austenitic grades, with strength nearly twice that of 300 series stainless steel.

REMAINDER |
A significant addition of Mo, Ni and Cu gives this alloy a good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. With high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen, Alloy 254 SMO is frequently used in high chloride environments.
Properties
254 SMO flat, 254 SMO flat & 254 SMO Coils, is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel developed for use in seawater and other aggressive chloride-bearing media. With high levels of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen SMO 254 flats & flats is frequently used in high chloride environments. Hence, it is available at many 254 SMO flat suppliers.

Alloy 254 flats have higher carbon composition which exhibits improved high temperature and creep rupture properties. Alloy 254 flats can be annealed at a temperature ranging from 1010 Degree C to 1193 Degree C (1850 Degree F to 2000 Degree F) and then quenched with water. Alloy 254 flats have good resistance to corrosion and oxidation and good creep strength. You can also view the 254 SMO material data flat for information about its mechanical and physical properties.
Application
Alloy 254 flats with high equivalent PRE number have excellent resistance to stress-corrosion cracking and pitting corrosion. SMO 254 flat is often used in high temperature burners, duct work, petrochemical heaters and furnaces, Saltwater handling, Tall oil distillation columns, Flue gas desulfurization scrubbers.
Components used in petroleum production, Food processing equipment, Process equipment in the chemical industry, Bleaching equipment in the pulp and paper industry.
