Austenitic SS 316 Flanges and Fittings

Austenitic SS 316 Flanges and Fittings

316 SS pipe fittings and 316 Stainless Steel Flanges are an Austenitic standard molybdenum-bearing grade, which is very useful stainless steel and is highly resistant to general corrosion. Austenitic SS 316 is better than the conventional nickel chromium stainless steels such as 302 and 304.

The molybdenum gives SS 316 flanges and 316 SS Fittings better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. The austenitic structure also gives these grades excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures.

Specification of Flange

The specified ASTM Standard Specification for Wrought Austenitic 316 Stainless Steel Flanges is ASTM A182 with manufacturing standard such as ANSI/ASME B16.5, B16.48, BS4504, B 16.47 Series A & B, BS 10, EN-1092, DIN, etc
