Cu Ni 90/10 bar offers designers and specifiers excellent resistance to stress corrosion, erosion, and biofouling in seawater and brackish water, excellent fabrication and welding properties, a high resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and the retention of mechanical properties down to cryogenic temperature.
Specification
The Specification for Cu Ni 90/10 bar as per astm Standard is ASTM B 151/ASME SB-151, they are categorised into different form and shape such as Cupro Nickel 90 / 10 Inconel 825 Round Bar, Rod, Channel Bar, T-Bar, Flat Bar, Blocks, Square, bar, Triangle, Threaded, Hex (A/F), Profiles, Half Ingot, Billet, I/H Bar, etc.
When considering wrought stainless round bars, material shall be furnished in the following way such as Hot-worked, Hot-worked and Annealed, Hot-worked- Annealed and cold worked or Hot-worked-Annealed and heat treated.
Round bars depending upon their treatment and their use and application they can also be available in different surface finishes such as Black, Bright Polished, Rough Turned, NO.4 Finish, Matt Finish, BA Finish, 2B, 2D, etc.
Application
90-10 copper nickel alloy bars or (UNS C70600) are used in power steering tubes, brake lines, condenser plates, pressure vessels and distiller tubes. Because of their unique useful properties, Copper Nickel 90 / 10 bars are specified for marine engineering applications, such as in shipbuilding and repair, desalination plants, offshore oil and gas structures and power generation.
