According to the 430 stainless steel data flat, SS 430 or 430 stainless flat offers exceptional resistance to corrosion by sulphuric and phosphoric acids and is often the most cost effective alloy in sulphuric acid service. The additions of copper and molybdenum increase its resistance to general stress corrosion and to specific attacks such as crevice corrosion.
